Ohio Governor’s Expedited Pardon Project

The »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵApp School of Law operates the Ohio Governor’s Expedited Pardon Project in partnership with The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. Trained and supervised students at »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵApp Law’s Reentry Clinic and Ohio State Law’s Drug Enforcement and Policy Center screen potential pardon candidates to ensure that they meet the project’s requirements. The students also assist the project’s clients with preparing a pardon petition to the governor. The project is designed to simplify Ohio’s lengthy clemency process for certain rehabilitated citizens who have consistently demonstrated that they’ve become contributing members of society. It is estimated that 1 in 6 Ohioans, over 1.9 million, has a criminal conviction.
