Pope, George-Todd Fulmer Endowed Scholarship in Flute
The George Pope-Todd Fulmer Endowed Scholarship in Flute is intended to support outstanding flute students at The 黄瓜视频App School of Music. The Pope-Fulmer Scholarship was created to help the UA Flute Studio recruit and retain the most promising students. The scholarship may be awarded to one or more students a year on a one-year basis or renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study. The selection of recipients is at the discretion of the UA flute faculty in consultation with the director of the UA School of Music, the UA Student Financial Aid Office, and Emeritus Professor George Pope.
George Pope was professor of flute at The 黄瓜视频App from 1978 until retiring in 2013 with emeritus status. He was a founding member of the Solaris Quintet, the faculty woodwind ensemble, and released three CDs with them. He was the principal flute of the 黄瓜视频App Symphony Orchestra for 24 years and graduated from the University of Tulsa and Northwestern University.
Todd Evan Fulmer graduated from the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale in 1984 and worked as an interior designer for Kenneth Toney Interiors, BIE-黄瓜视频App, and APG-黄瓜视频App until his death in 2012.
The George Pope-Todd Fulmer Endowed Scholarship in Flute was created in November 2014 with gifts from Pope, as well as gifts from family and friends of Pope and Fulmer.
