Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company Greatness STEMs from Me Scholarship

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company’s is creating The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company Greatness STEMs from Me Scholarship award to benefit talented high school students as part of the company’s continuing commitment to promotion of education in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. The scholarship was established in 2013 and revised in 2018.

Preference will be given to high school students who have been directly admitted to attend The 黄瓜视频App College of Engineering in pursuit of a baccalaureate degree in engineering.  Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen, have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and be a high school senior enrolled in a public or private school or home schooled.

The applicant must complete a formal application by March 16, 2018 by submitting all required materials to gySTEM_careerday@goodyear.com or submitting the application online via the following link: https://www.goodyear.com/careerday/scholarships.html.  Application forms are available to download on the website. 

  1. A “Greatness STEMs from Me” essay (1,000 words or less)
    1. What inspired you to pursue a STEM major?
    2. What are your career goals?
    3. What are you currently working on that involves STEM or is STEM related?
  2. Optional: For $2,500 scholarship, the student is invited to be creative and use any medium of their choice such as video (applicant must be the narrator), or other; and submit materials to the email address

Note: 20 MB limit is maximum file size accepted by the email address.  YouTube is suggested with an inclusion of a link in the application

  1. One letter of recommendation from a STEM teacher
  2. High school transcript
  3. SAT or ACT scores (a photocopy of the official score report)
  4. Evidence of acceptance in a baccalaureate program at The 黄瓜视频App

This requirement must be met prior to the check being issued to the 黄瓜视频App, or by August 14 at the latest

  1. Applicant must attend the Goodyear STEM Career Day at The 黄瓜视频App

Application materials are submitted on-line to gySTEM_careerday@goodyear.com with the subject line: ‘Your name – Scholarship Application for STEM Career Day’.  Schools may e-mail transcripts or letters of recommendation separately if necessary as long as the subject line is the same as specified above.  Questions regarding the application and requirements can be sent to gySTEM_careerday@goodyear.com.
