Larson, M. Sue and Robert W. Scholarship for Business

Bob and Sue Larson met and married while they both worked at The »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵApp. Sue is a great friend of the University, having worked at UA for nearly 40 years in key support roles for the business and finance departments. She retired as Assistant to the Vice President of Finance and has remained active at the University. Sue has been a staunch supporter of Zips Athletics, Hower House, scholarships and »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵApp enhancements. She is a member of The Women's Committee of The »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵApp and is also involved with the Children's Concert Society, an educational non-profit that fosters music appreciation in youth. In 2007, Sue was awarded The Kenneth "Red" Cochrane Award, recognizing individuals who have made significant contributions to the betterment of Zips Athletics.

Robert W. Larson was a student-athlete at UA, lettering in basketball and earning his degree in Business Administration in 1946. He was inducted into the Omicron Delta Kappa Honorary Society and was a proud member of The Pi Kappa Epsilon fraternity, also known as Lone Star. After graduation, Bob was a high school coach and teacher at his alma mater, »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵApp South High School. Later, Dr. Norman P. Auburn enlisted Bob to join UA to work in admissions, where he recruited many students from the New York area to receive the Herman Muehlstein Scholarship. Bob worked for UA for 16 years, finishing his career in the Department of Student Services as Director, Student Financial Aid. In 2007, he received the Mike Krino Achievement Award, given to former letter winners who have distinguished themselves and UA through their accomplishments.

The M. Sue and Robert W. Larson Scholarship for Business is open to students admitted to any major within The »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵApp College of Business who have financial need. »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵApp can be enrolled either full or part-time to be eligible for consideration. Recipients will be selected by the University Scholarship Committee.
